In 2003 Dick and Lois Haskayne established five Entrance Awards at SAIT Polytechnic each valued at $4,000. Students eligible for the awards are entering students who are graduates of a rural Canadian high school, this being reflective of the Haskayne's rural Alberta upbringing. The award is also based on academic achievement and financial need and preference is also given to students who chose to take advantage of living in the SAIT campus residence.
