Understanding the many challenges faced by students from rural communities attending University, the Haskaynes established this scholarship fund to help ease the burden. Annually $2,500 scholarships are awarded to two rural students based on academic standing and financial need.

Richard and Lois Haskayne Academic Excellence Scholarship

• Conditions: To be awarded annually to students with superior academic achievement entering the first year of an undergraduate degree program, directly from high school. Recipients will be selected on the basis of academic standing (minimum awards average of 80%) achieved on Grade 11 and/or Grade 12 courses and financial need. Preference will be given to graduates of rural Canadian high schools who intend to live in University residence.
